Ethica Ethiopia Aricha Washed Whole Bean Coffee

Ethiopia Aricha Washed presents a light, floral coffee characterized by milk chocolate sweetness and a gentle citrus note reminiscent of fresh lemon. With a black tea-like body and a pleasant lingering sweet finish, this coffee offers a delightful sensory experience.

Originating from the Aricha area within the larger Yirgacheffe region of Ethiopia, this coffee is cultivated by 700 small producers around the Kebel Aricha coffee mill. Established in 2009, the Aricha station plays a vital role in this coffee-rich environment, employing around 250 people during harvest months. In addition to producing traditional fully washed coffees, the station also crafts sun-dried naturals.

The cherries undergo meticulous processing, including in-cherry fermentation for 12-15 days and careful drying on raised beds for another 12-15 days, depending on weather conditions. This hands-on approach results in a remarkably unique coffee with a sweet, clean, and bright flavor profile, showcasing the dedication of smallholder farmers and the expertise of the Aricha station.
